Reading a feature film treatment example, or several examples, will help you become a better screenwriter. It would be crazy to make a movie or feature film without a screenplay. But what would also be crazy is to write a screenplay without a treatment. A lot of new screenwriters are not even familiar with the term “movie treatment.”

As you will see from our examples below, a movie treatment is a few steps above synopsis and a few below a screenplay. It is a written outline of all the main events and action scenes in the story of the script from beginning to end. You don’t need to write any dialogue in the treatment. Just tell the story of the screenplay. It also contains the logline (one to two sentence summary) and a description of characters.
