Ernesto Daranas (7 December 1961, Havana), Cuban film and television director and screenwriter.
Daranas launched successfully from an early age on the radio and later television in 2004 developed the screenplay and co-directed alongside natasha Vázquez documentary last Havana gaiteiros, winner of the Prix International of journalism King of Spain, one of the most important in the Hispanic world.
In 2004 Daranas led TV film La Vie en Rose, which drew up the script. This work won the Grand Prize of the I Festival national television of Cuba more six, including Best Director and original screenplay, and it has quickly become a cult of the Cuban audiovisual work.
Daranas work has always tried to somehow habanera society problems such as prostitution, poverty, the absence of the parents, etc. An example of this is La Vie en Rose, where social critique reaches a tone even surreal.
Daranas is currently in post-production of his first film for cinema, The gods broken, with Isabel Santos, Silvia Eagle, Mario Limonta action and others.
