Gabriela David (Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires province, Argentina, September 21, 1960 – Buenos Aires, Argentina, November 4 2010 m.) was Argentine film director and a scriptwriter. She was eldest daughter of the deceased director Mario David film and plastic artist and ceramist.
Professional activity
Very child profession parents put her in contact with art, in particular cinema and fine art. He studied at the National School of fine arts and later settled on film and in 1978 he was Assistant Director on the film the rabona directed by his father. He made four short films, two of them in Super 8: test and that everything changes, and they followed Romance in the West of the city gate (1979).
In 1985 he returned to work as Assistant to his father in the inverted cross and 1987 did in international co-production Tango Bar directed by Marcos zurinaga with Raúl juliá, Rubén Juarez and Valeria lynch. From 1981 to 1984 he worked in the producer of animated films of Jorge Martín “Catú” as a colorist and Director of the funds. In 1989 it was shot in 16 mm and color short Train Gaucho, awarded in several international festivals, adaptation of the story of the same name by Juan José Manauta. Since 1993 he served as the Chair workshop of expression II, Professor in the communication sciences career from the School of social sciences, University of Buenos Aires.
As Director, screenwriter and producer made several short films, including gaucho train (1988), based on a short story of same name Juan José manauta, for which he received eight national and international awards, among them in 1989 the Carabela de Plata for best short film Ibero-American at the thirty-first International Film Festival of Bilbao, Spain.

After an interval that was devoted to teaching, Gabriela David performed at 2000 on his own script, with independent production, his first feature film: Taxi, a meeting, very well received by critics. The film, for which he received several awards, refers to a thief that one night, while driving a stolen taxi, finds a wounded teenager.

His second feature film was shot in 2009 fly ash, which revolves around the friendship of two young people within the country that deception are brought to the big city to be exploited as prostitutes. This film was also supported by public and critics.
Death
Gabriela David died on November 4 in 2010 of a disease which had struggled for the past 15 years.
