Gustavo fontán is a filmmaker and Argentine who was born on December 24, 1960 in Banfield, Buenos Aires province, Argentina, Theatre.
Professional activity
Graduated in letters at the Faculty of philosophy and literature from the University of Buenos Aires and made filmmaking courses. He is Professor at the Faculty of social sciences of the National University of Lomas de Zamora. He directed fiction films and documentaries, he has written stories, poems and dramas, and theatre director. He directed the short films light of autumn (1992) and swan song (1994). The latter into the figure and the poetics of James Fijman, a poet who lived 30 years boarding at the Psychiatric Hospital Borda in Buenos Aires. Then came medium-length the films rites of passage (1997), a film of Marechal or the battle of los Angeles (2001), a documentary about the Argentine writer Leopoldo marechal and experimental film on the figure of Argentine writer Macedonio Fernández (1997).
In 1994 was Assistant Director in the documentary Ladybug and Perichona directed by Clara zapettini and Regina, directed by Laura Búa, both produced by Lita stantic.
In 2003 he released his first feature film where the Sun falls, which was the last film directed by Alfonso De grazia, which also starred Mónica gazpio, who participated the Festival of cinema of Mar del Plata international in 2003 Film Festival, Lleida, where he received the audience award and the Toulouse Film Festival in 2002.
