John Huston (August 5, 1906, Nevada, Missouri – August 28, 1987, Middletown, Rhode Island) was a director, screenwriter, and film actor naturalized American Irish he performed numerous classic films of United States.

It was a restless, character art collector since he was also a boxer, journalist, novelist, military, Hunter horse breeder… In fact, in his teens he became a boxing champion and served as American military attaché in the army Mexican. His first married at the age of 20 years. Lived as Street painter in Paris during a season, he worked as an actor and he was a New York Magazine Editor.
Started in film as extra in a movie, as the figurehead, saints of hell or The Storm. Thanks to his father, who was an actor, it was screenwriter William Wyler (House of discord or Jezebel) films and worked in an impressive amount of scripts during the 1930s and early 1940s, The Sergeant York, double crime in the Rue Morgue, the last refuge, among others). His first film as director, which also was screenwriter, the Maltese Falcon, is still considered a masterpiece of the history of cinema, with Humphrey Bogart as protagonist. His major films were also by Bogart: the treasure of Sierra Madre and Cayo Largo.
Queen of Africa, another of his masterpieces, filmed in 1951, showed his team far was ready to shoot a film shooting in the Congo, mosquitoes and heat with all kinds of diseases. Errol Flynn and Trevor Howard also suffered great hardship during the filming of the roots of heaven in Chad.
However, his career had some irregularity to accept directing films such as The Bible produced by Dino de Laurentiis; Annie; Evasion or victory, or Casino Royale, which featured five different directors James Bond film.
In spite of this, continued to make great films later, as reflections in a golden eye or on the volcano.
Had the opportunity to lead his own father – actor Walter Huston, in at least five feature films, and also directed his daughter, Anjelica Huston, in honour of Prizzi and Dubliners, among others.
He died in Middletown (Rhode Island) from emphysema. We can affirm that Huston is one of the great directors of the recent history of cinema.
John Huston has their star on Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1765 Hollywood Boulevard.
