Francisco RoviraBeleta, born in Barcelona (Spain) on September 25, 1912 and died on 23 June 1999, was a film director, producer and screenwriter Spanish.
Although he had graduated in law in 1942 by the University of Barcelona, from 1948 onwards he decided devote fully to the world of cinema.
His success took place in 1962 with the film Los Tarantos, set in Barcelona and by the best interpreters of the moment of flamenco as Antonio Gades, Carmen Amaya, Sara lezama, or Peret. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for best non-English speaking film. He repeated the same nomination with the film El amor brujo in 1967.
