María Luisa Bemberg (Buenos Aires) April 14, 1922 – Ditto; (May 7, 1995); feminist, film director and screenwriter argentina stressed as Director of films on topics relating to the emancipation and vindication of women. Biography

Daughter of Otto Eduardo Bemberg and Sofia Elena Bengolea, María Luisa Bemberg belonged to argentina fourth generation of the powerful family Bemberg, founded by the Patriarch during the Government of Juan Manuel de Rosas and Paraguay Guerra Otto bemberg, of German origin. Family (in 1888 founder and owner of the Brewery Quilmes) was faced with Juan D. Perón during its first two Governments.

Architect Carlos Maria Miguens married October 17, 1945 during the Peronist lived Spain and France, had four children. Divorce ten years later, being – as she punctuated – “Lady Miguens into Lady of no one (later title of one of his films).

Maria Luisa Bemberg was one of those who witnessed the obsession of the Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Moori Koenig, one of the military who overthrew Juan Perón. Koenig had hijacked the embalmed body of Eva Perón, installing it in your Office, where exhibited it its visitors.

Influenced by the 1960s, and film of ingmar bergman, the Nouvelle vague French and Italian, the work of Julio cortázar (especially the Rayuela novel) began as entrepreneur Theatre in 1959 founding together with Catherine Wolff Buenos Aires Globe Theatre. Specializing in women’s issues (and their situation and confrontation to Argentine patriarchal society) evident in his films Mrs no man (1981), Miss mary (with julie Christie, 1986) and that does not speak (1993, with marcello mastroianni) gained remarkable international impact with films focusing on Latin American history as Camila famous women on Camila O’Gorman susú pecoraro and imanol Arias was nominated for an Academy Award as best foreign film in 1985 and I, the worst of all (1990) on Sor Juana ines de la Cruz assumpta Serna and Dominique sanda.

He died in Buenos Aires ill cancer at 73 while working on the screenplay of for his film the imposter based on a tale of their behaviour—i.e by Silvina ocampo, maternal via sister Victoria ocampo and Adolfo bioy Casares wife. The film was made by his collaborator Alejandro maci in 1997.
