Neil Burger is a native of Connecticut, United States, who led the so-called pseudo documentary films Director Interview With the Assassin in 2002, and 2006 (starring Edward Norton and Jessica Biel) film The illusionist.

Life and work

After attending school Greenwich Country Day School in Greenwich Connecticut, Burger he graduated from Yale University with a degree in arts, then became involved with experimental films during the Decade of 1980.

Burger, who directed and wrote interview with an Assassin, won the award for best film at the Woodstock Film Festival. Interview with the Assassin was also nominated for three awards Independent Spirit Awards.

Burger he recently directed The illusionist, which was adapted for the screen of the tale “Eisenheim the Illusionist” of Steven Millhauser. The premiere of The illusionist was given at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. This film also opened the Seattle Film Festival 2006.
