Ricardo Muñoz Suay (August 28, 1917 – August 2, 1997) was a film director, producer and screenwriter Spanish.

Biography

His father was a liberal. Ricardo turned his youth in a Communist militant and before the civil war leader of the. In 1962 he left the Communist Party of Spain.

Member of the Academy of Arts and the film, as well as numerous international juries at festivals such as Venice, Bergamo, San Sebastián and Valencia. Also worked in media specializing in cinema as North papers, Cahiers of the Cinematheque, Cahiers du Cinéma, frames and destination.

Since its inception in 1998 the Valencian Institute of cinematography is named.
