Sean S. Cunningham

Sean S. Cunningham (born 31 December 1941, New York, New York, United States) is a director, producer and screenwriter.

Life and work

His most famous film is Friday the 13th, a saga that has delivered 13 sequels 2010 since 1980. He is regarded as one of the most popular producers of the horror genre slasher.

They are S. Cunningham studied drama at the University of Stanford and also studied cinema. He first worked as a Theatre, among other things New York Lincoln Center director. His first movie called “Together”.

After a short cooperation with Wes Craven he led the direction of the Friday the 13th horror film. With a budget of only $550,000, the film was a commercial success.

Then came other films such as A Stranger is Watching and Spring Break. The following films Star Deep Star Six und my boyfriend’s Back did not have much success.

Then he also worked as producer of Reiselusde a German TV that radiated in 1986 in the second German television series. Manny’s Orphans 1978 film, Harry Manfredini composed the music, then ended up making music every Friday the 13th movies. In 2009 he cooperated with Michael Bay and director Marcus Nispel in a remake of Friday the 13th.
