Tito Davison, whose real name was Oscar Herman Davison was a director and screenwriter of film who was born in Chillán, Biobío, Chile Republic, on October 4 in 1902 and died in Mexico City, Mexico on March 21, 1985 after an extensive career in Argentina, Chile and Mexico.

Early film

In 1927 he linked to the cinema as a technician in Hollywood and later made his debut as actor in movies filmed in Spanish with artists from Latin America and Spain to the public for that language. Some of these films were shadows of glory (1929), seeking to force or the big fight (1930); The presidio the big house (1930) and the big day or new horizons or the big trail (1930).

Subsequently, Davison preferred to focus on technique, the guionismo and adaptation, road that led to film direction that was started in Argentina

Activity in Argentina

In 1937 he became a film director in Argentina, with died Sergeant Laprida (1937); He also collaborated in several films: supervisor Bartolo had a flute (1939), Lullaby (1941) framing, writer of Barranco (1938), we must educate Niní (1940) and lazy family (1940). Continuation of his career at Mexico

In 1944 he went to Mexico to work as production manager of the imagesetter, Inc. company and was the adapter (uncredited) in La barraca, Vicente blasco ibáñez, who lead Roberto gavaldón novel.

From 1945 to 1947 he adapted other eleven movies to lead Gavaldón. This latest film, which was a remake of Argentine film flight, was directed by Arturo de córdova, Elsa Aguirre, Marga López, Carlos López Moctezuma and José Elías Moreno. Other actors that were directed by Davison was Maria Felix, Libertad lamarque and Fernando Soler.

Other films he directed were Black is my color (1950), Cape Horn (1955), the sweet enemy (1956) and the age of innocence (1962). He later returned to Chile and directed the bureaucrat (1964) and regardless of Pipilco (1964). To return to Mexico made the hit film the right from birth. Continued linked to film as director and screenwriter in numerous movies and at the time of his death had just finished a documentary for the State of Morelos and the film war is a good job. He died on March 21, 1985 in Mexico City.

Awards and nominations

He received the Ariel award for best direction and a Quixote award Spain, for the film adaptation of Doña diabla award shared with Edmund Báez. In 1947 was nominated for the Ariel Award for best adaptation by the partner film. Ariel for better adaptation by the good waiter was awarded in 1948 and 1949 his film God forgive me was nominated for Golden Ariel.
