Hannibal Di Salvo (Bella Vista, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, October 5, 1924 – d. Buenos Aires, Argentina, June 26, 2010) was a film director, screenwriter and cinematographer Argentine who developed a valuable record of seven decades.

Biography

With less than 20 years and based of the studies San Miguel began as an extra in the early 40 with films such as oil with Iris Marga, and boyfriends for girls, Antonio momplet. Later he made his debut as a camera Assistant in Melodies of America (1942) commanded by Edward Morera. He served as cameraman until 1960, taking part in 160 20 documentaries and fiction films.

Ten films he ventured into the 1950s, stands out the drama final test (1955) and in 1960 he appeared as an operator in I believe in yourself, with stellar Libertad lamarque protagonización. Their time of splendor spanned the decades from the 60s, 70s and 80s. He worked with foreign dino risi, arne mattsson and Luis García Berlanga.

It was illuminator in almost entire Filmography of Leopoldo Torre nilsson, of working with Lucas demare, René Mugica, Hugo del Carril and Mario soffici, among other figures in the history of Argentine cinema. Trajectory (1960), his first short film as a director, was awarded by the National Fund of the arts and in 1981 directed video “Matthias and the others”, which in 1983, with the title of the Matthias case transferred to 35 mm and demonstrated the sensitivity and mature craft of Di Salvo.

His work as a photographer highlighted in titles as clerk, Martín Fierro (award of chroniclers best photography in colour), the holy sword, Güemes, Earth in arms, the maffia (award of chroniclers for best picture in color), seven Follies, Boquitas pintadas the chantas and Bairoletto, among many others. In 1981 he directed, Matthias and the others that in 1983, with the title of the Matthias case was transferred to 35 mm and video showed sensitivity and mature craft of Di Salvo.

As a filmmaker is you must add such titles as Trapped, personal safety and the kidnappers, but was in 1997, when she made El Che, and after five years of inactivity, Chumbar you version of the work of Oscar Viale, starring Enrique pinti that attracted attention as conductor.
