Josefina Torres Benedetti (Caracas, 9 October 1951) is a Director and producer of Venezuelan cinema.

Biography

He studied design, journalism and photography at Venezuela. Then he went to Paris, where were his film studies at the Institute des Hautes Études Cinématographiques (IDHEC), and after graduation, he served as editor, camera operator and script, while developing their own short film and documentary projects.

In 1985 he won the Camera d’Or in Cannes Film Festival, for his first film, the film Oriana. In 1993 she co-wrote, produced and directed the Celestial mechanics, starring Spanish Ariadna Gil. In 2000 led to other Spanish, Penélope Cruz, in the romantic comedy The women top, pour l’entreprise nortamericana fox searchlights. Now, in 2010, he wrote and directed the Havana Eva, tape with the Venezuelan prakriti Maduro as the protagonist, a películ developed in Havana, Cuba.

He lives in Los Angeles, California; where prepares his film projects.
