Mark Anthony “Baz” Luhrmann (1962-) is an actor, director and screenwriter Australian filmmaker best known for the Red curtain trilogy especially by the third film of the trilogy moulin Rouge.
Biography
Luhrmann was born in new south wales (Australia) on September 17, 1962, a teacher of dance and Leonard Luhrmann a farmer, who died the first day that Baz filming moulin Rouge.[ 1 ] Luhrmann attended the St. Joseph’s Hastings Regional School, Port Macquarie from 1975 to 1978 and Sydney Grammar School. His nickname “baz” was due to its similarity with Basil Brush.
It is a very good friend of Australian actors hugh jackman and nicole kidman [ 2 ] and the writer and actor Craig Pearce who has worked in moulin Rouge, Romeo and juliet and strictly ballroom.
Luhrmann case on 26 January 1997 with Catherine Martin, who has been in all of his films production designer. 10 October 2003 welcomed their daughter Lillian “Lilly” Amanda Luhrmann in Sydney and 8 June 2005 welcomed his son William Alexander Luhrmann.
Career
After a quiet acting career started in the 1970s, he achieved international fame with Hollywood productions in the early 1990s. His first box office hit was strictly ballroom (1993), with Paul mercury, Tara Morice, Bill Hinter; three years later adapted to William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet (1996), with Leonardo dicaprio, Pete postlethwaite and claire danes.
His biggest success so far has been moulin Rouge (2001), with nicole kidman and ewan mcgregor, an original musical with songs by the Beatles, Madonna, elton john, Nirvana and Queen, among others. He has also performed “La boheme” Opera mounts as well as commercial, being the best-known has done for the perfume Chanel No 5 with Kidman.
“Australia (2008)” has been his last movie that stars nicole kidman and hugh jackman and premiered in December 2008.
