Murat Petit Ulyses (Buenos Aires, 1907 – January 28, Argentina – 19 August 1983) was a poet, writer, playwright and journalist Argentine. Son of Ulysses Petit Fedra Regúnaga and Murat and his real name was Ulises but when he started writing became it Ulyses for wrote, avoid add to its already long name the word son to stand out from his father. He is the author wrote the greatest number of scripts for the Argentine cinema films until 2008.

Biography

Its beginnings

He made his secondary studies at the Colegio Nacional de San Isidro, Buenos Aires province, Argentina and initiated advocacy interrupted to devote himself to literature and journalism. To collaborate regularly in publications of Buenos Aires, La Nación El Hogar, El Sol and major magazines of avant garde, joined the daily criticism. He was head of the music page, in which he made the first notes on jazz and then co-directed with Jorge Luis Borges literary supplement designed to compete with its similar La Nación newspaper and La Prensa.

Literary work

In 1926 the Martín Fierro magazine first published his poetry. Followed publication of commemorations (1929), faces (1931), The Islands that Petit Murat in 1935 won the Municipal award of poetry that gave the municipality of the city of Buenos Aires and tide of tears (1937).

Martín Fierro, literary movement of avant-garde comprising Macedonio Fernández, Jorge Luis Borges, Oliverio girondo, Eduardo mallea and other prominent Argentine literature took part of the literary group.

Petit Murat developed the themes of love, death and the mystery but always from the biographical facts considered “essential, nothing abstract” in free verse.

Jorge Luis Borges, Adolfo bioy Casares, Silvina ocampo and his poem splendid marks of tears were included among the top 5 of the Argentine literature published an anthology of contemporary poetry.

He was two years boarding with tuberculosis in a sanatorium Ascochinga, Province of Córdoba (Argentina) and with this experience he wrote the novel the balcony towards the death by which received the national prize for literature for the three years 1942-43-44.

Translations

He wrote the plays the sand bride (in collaboration with Homero Manzi, 1945), Yrigoyen (in collaboration with César Tiempo) and A mirror for the Holy (in collaboration with Tullius Demichelli). Sand bride narrates the drama of Elisa Brown, daughter of Admiral William Brown, who committed suicide before the death of her boyfriend in a naval engagement. The play premiered on 7 March 1945 with Delia garcés and Orestes caviglia performance in leading roles, backed by a cast of front-line actors such as Enrique Diosdado, Milagros de la Vega, Margarita Corona, Alita Román and Sapelli Sunday and was very well received by critics.

His association with tango

Within the framework of the project of Ben Molar 16 for tango wrote the lyrics of tango “Bailate a tango, Ricardo” to which was set to music the composer Juan D’arienzo. The letter refers to a mythical episode in the history of tango by Ricardo güiraldes in Paris. It is the receipt of this new dance by high streets in Parisian society where well-to-do Argentines traveling to that city were linked. Its relationship to cinema

Activity in exile

Between 1951 and 1958 he was exiled in Mexico for political reasons.[ 4 ], and there he wrote more than forty films for Mexican cinema, scripts for Spain and one for two novels that were simultaneously published in Argentina and Mexico and Brazil. Also a version of Sophocles Oedipus King it premiered in the city of Mexico.
