Soleil Moon Frye (6 August 1976) is an actress American film director and screenwriter. Frye is known above all for his child role as protagonist in Punky Brewster, a sitcom.
Biography
Soleil was born in Glendora, California, his father is actor Virgil Frye and his mother the talent agent, Sondra Peluce Londy. It has two half-brothers, Sean Frye and Meeno Peluce, both former child actors “Soleil” (pronounced / soʊˈleɪ /) is the word French for “Sun”.
Career
Frye made his debut as an actress in the movie Missing Children: A mother’s Story in 1982. Punky Brewster at the age of 8, he starred in a sitcom broadcast on NBC and in syndication from 1984 to 1986.
Likewise, doubled the lead character in the animated series It’s Punky Brewster. After that series ended in 1986, Frye won the lead role in the sitcom Cadets in 1988. During the 1990s, she appeared as a guest on various television shows, including The Wonder Years, Saved by the Bell, and Friends, and doubled as Tiny Toon Adventures and The Cartoon Cartoon Show animated characters. Apart from his work in television, Frye appeared in the films The Liars’ Club (1993) and Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings (1995) and in productions such as Orestes, I corruption My Mother and The Housekeeper. In 1996, Frye moved to New York to attend The New School and subsequently directed the movie “Wild horses” (1998).
From 2000 to 2003, Frye represented Roxie King character in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, with his old friend and producer Melissa Joan Hart series.[ 3 ] During the recording of Sabrina, doubled the character of Zoey in The Proud Family series for Disney Channel and in the same series in 2005 TV movie.
Frye directed his second film, Sonny Boy, in 2004. Documentary narrates the Chronicles of a trip two weeks Frye was with his father, Virgil, who has Alzheimer’s disease. Sonny Boy was chosen for the twenty-seventh Starz Denver International Film Festival official selection [ 4 ] and won the award for best documentary at the San Diego Film Festival. In 2006, provided the voice for the character of Jade Bratz animated series.
Personal life
In 1992 had a brief relationship with actor Edward Furlong (Terminator 2) and soon after came out with Mark Wahlberg, known then as Marky Mark, leading a group of rap. After suffering youth gigantomastia teenager, Frye underwent breast reduction three months of age 16.
Frye married Jason Goldberg, an actor and television producer, on 25 October 1998 in Los Angeles. They had their first child, Poet Sienna Rose Goldberg, 24 August 2005 in Los Angeles.[ 6 ] On 17 March 2008, Soleil gave birth to her second daughter, Jagger Joseph Blue Goldberg.
In 2007, together with two friends, Frye opened The Little Seed (the small seed), a boutique childrens respectful with the environment in Los Angeles.
